The Lawman's Little Surprise

The The Lawman's Little Surprise

The Wedding's Off!

It's a bittersweet homecoming for Trish Clayborne when she returns to Desperation, Oklahoma...and comes face to face with her ex-fiancé. Morgan Rule broke her heart when—without a word of explanation—he called off their wedding. She figured things between them were about as over as they could get. Until she found out she was pregnant.

Morgan is stunned when he hears the news. He's even more shocked when Trish tells him she plans to raise their child on her own. Not if he has anything to say about it! But how can he do right by Trish and their baby without revealing his true reasons for ending their relationship? And will Trish let him?

This honorable sheriff has some explaining to do!

Hearts of Desperation

The Inside Story

Heroine Trish Clayborne is the older sister of Bachelor Cowboy heroine Kate. It hadn't been my intention to write about her next, but my editor at the time, Allison Lyons, was interested in Trish, so we decided it was time for the sweet Clayborne sister to have her story. But sweet Trish's life has undergone some changes and so has Trish.

It took some brainstorming with my best brainstorming friends to discover Morgan's secret, but we finally found what made him so serious, and a man who rarely smiled and relaxed. With a strong dedication to his job, he's also loyal and responsible. Halfway through writing the book, I realized that without knowing it, I had modeled him after a character on the TV show Criminal Minds. "Hotch" (Agent Hotchner) was once described by a fellow actor as "the tree that never bends". And that's Morgan. I hope you like him as much as I do.

Reviews

Roxann Delany has written an interesting book about what can happen if you allow the past to rule your life. The twists and turns that happen in the book will keep your mind occupied and wondering when the characters are both going to come to their senses and realize that they just might love each other enough to put up with whatever the future might hold. Well put together it keeps your attention from start to finish. The minor characters are so good that I really hope there are more books coming with them as the leads. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The story is an old one but Delaney’s characters give it color, with two stubborn main characters and an entertaining cast of supporting characters.
