Roxann Delaney skillfully keeps the reader guessing as to Dev’s motives and Carly’s next moves. Each page is a delight as the reader is completely caught off-guard and is hooked into discovering what happens next. In Carly, Ms. Delaney has created a wonderful heroine who is neither shrinking violet nor idiot. Impulsive, yes, and intelligent as well. She goes toe-to-toe with Dev, a man with secrets, yet is not afraid of him nor underestimates him.
Dev is a hero with flaws and secrets. Ms. Delaney has created a wonderful hero who is completely tripped up by his butterfly partner, yet manages to try and maintain control of the situation, even when he knows he’s lost it.
Ms. Delaney has a gift for creating warm, real, likeable stories and effortlessly brings the reader into her world. Every book is a treat, every story is wonderful, and His Queen of Hearts is no exception.
